Architect in Sydney’s Inner West
I’m based just up the road in Surry Hills, and a lot of my work is in the Inner West: cottages, terraces and semis on narrow lots, often with neighbours close on both sides.
These houses usually need more space without losing what people love about them from the street. Most of the time that means keeping the front and putting the new work at the back.
Marrickville Bungalow. A small two-bedroom house on a narrow site that needed room for a growing family. We kept the single-level look to the street and added a three-level extension at the back, with two new bedrooms, a family area upstairs that doubles as an office, and green roofs. It was a long DA with Inner West Council and a lot of talking with neighbours, but it got there.
Erskineville Terrace. A four-level heritage-listed terrace. We kept the original fireplaces and ceilings, relocated the kitchen, and added a new ensuite and garage.
If you’ve got a place in the Inner West and want to see what’s possible, get in touch. Happy to have a chat.
